Question: Can the Mobile Flashlight stun gun flashlight be charged in the car?

Answer: Yes, there are two ways in which the Mobile Flashlight stun gun can be charged:

*This stun gun comes with a portable car charger, allowing one to charge it in your car.

* This stun gun also comes with your typical charging cable that can be plugged into an outlet.

In addition to the Mobile Flashlight stun gun, the Covert Flashlight stun gun can also be charged in the car.

Question: Do I need to buy batteries for a rechargeable stun gun?

Answer: No, the majority of rechargeable stun guns already have rechargeable batteries built into them. You do not need to purchase batteries for it.

Question: Does the stun gun have a battery indicator?

Answer: No, but when you test fire the unit, you should be able to tell if the batteries are getting weaker. When the battery is weak, you can see that the current that passes through the metal prongs is not as strong.

Question: How often do I have to recharge the stun gun?

Answer: It depends on the stun gun model. Most rechargeable stun guns on our site only need to be charged 6-8 hours each for every 30-60 days. Please see the provided instruction manual for more information.

Question: How do stun guns work?

Answer: Stun guns use high voltage and low amperage to temporarily disable an attacker. Stun guns do not rely solely on pain for results. The energy stored in the stun gun is dumped into the attacker muscles causing them to do a great deal of work rapidly. This rapid work cycle instantly depletes the attacker blood sugar by converting it to lactic acid. In short, he is unable to produce energy for his muscles, and his body is unable to function properly. Stun guns also interrupt the tiny neurological impulses that control and direct voluntary muscle movement. When the attacker’s neuromuscular system is overwhelmed and controlled by the stun gun he loses his balance.

When a stun gun touches both probes against the assailant’s body for ½ second, it will startle the assailant, giving him some pain, muscular contraction and shock. For 1-2 seconds, it will cause muscle spasms and a dazed mental state. For 3-5 seconds, it will cause loss of balance and muscle control, total mental confusion and disorientation, leaving him dazed. Under no conditions can you suffer a charge back to your own body, even if the assailant touches you while you are using a stun gun on him.

Question: Do your stun guns work on dogs?

Answer: None of our stun guns are designed to use on dogs. However, we have customers that have used our stun guns to stop dog fights and dog attacks. They have given very good feedback on that, saying that simply the sound of the stun gun going off is a great deterrent.

Question: Do you have anything I can use from a distance?

Answer: Tasers are the only product that will allow you to use it from a great distance. Please check out our page on tasers for more information. We also have stun batons and flashlight stun guns that extend your reach.

Question: Why should I get a stun gun—what are they capable of?

Answer: Stun guns are an excellent means of self-defense; first as a deterrent and, if need be, they can disable an attacker temporarily by delivering a non-lethal, high-voltage electric shock. Just test firing one of them into the air is often enough to stop an attack or aggressive activity. As the bright electric current pulsates between the prongs it creates an intimidating electrical sight and sound. An attacker with any sense at all will stop in his tracks. If the sight and sound doesn't stop him a jolt from the unit certainly will! Simply touching him with the device will deliver a high voltage shock causing loss of balance and muscle control, confusion, and disorientation- bringing him to his knees and making him incapable of further aggressive activity. Full recovery takes about five to ten minutes. There is no permanent harm.

Question: Will a stun gun work on those under the influence?

Answer: Yes, stun guns do indeed work even on those under the influence of alcohol or narcotics. A stun gun causes a great deal of pain however it is more important to note that it is causing the body to have a chemical reaction. The voltage from a stun gun causes the body to release lots of lactic acid into the muscles. This is similar to what happens when you have a cramp except it is affecting a much larger area of the body, is far more intense and lasts much longer.

The bottom line is, pain compliance is possible but what you really want is for the assailant to not be able to get up until after you have safely retreated and the person being under the influence is not a factor when a stun gun is properly used.

Question: Are there any permanent effects of stun guns or tasers?

Answer: None of these products can directly cause long term damage. Of course, there may be secondary factors. If you stun someone and they fall, they may incur secondarily related injuries.

Question: How should I carry my flashlight stun gun?

Answer: Flashlight stun guns do come with a nylon holster, so it can be conveniently carried on your belt. If your flashlight stun gun is primarily for car safety, make sure that it is an easily accessible, but safely hidden, place in your car.

Question: Should I choose stun gun or pepper spray?

Answer: Stun guns and pepper spray both have advantages and disadvantages. A stun gun can only be used at close contact with an attacker, while pepper spray can put a safe distance between you and an attacker (5-10 feet, depending on model). Pepper spray must be sprayed in the eyes/face or inhaled directly to be effective, while stun gun works anywhere on the body. The efficiency of pepper spray may be affected by wind and rain, and stun gun efficiency depends on how long you keep the gun on the attacker (generally, 3-5 seconds). It is strongly recommended that you carry both. Do not rely on just one form of defense.
